One of my new year resolutions was to use more natural and organic-based products. While it is not easy to implement in real life, I’ve decided to start with hair care products and give organic product brand – John Masters Organics a try! I have tried shampoos and conditioners from organic brands some years ago, so I was kind of aware what to expect, but it turned out to be even better than before ;-).
First of all, I’d like to mention that I have thin hair that become oily quite quickly, on top of that I have a sensitive scalp skin. Therefore, I was looking for products that will give additional volume to my hair, absorb unnecessary oil and be very gentle because of my sensitive skin.
So, the shampoo I first bought from the brand was Zinc & Sage Shampoo With Conditioner, it is 2 in 1 – shampoo & conditioner. The key ingredients, as you could imagine are zinc that helps to reduce scalp irritation and sage that strengthens the hair. The wheat amino acids work like a conditioner and also give the hair a nice shine. It worked really well – no irritation, easy to use and no specific scent.
Now I am using Shampoo For Fine Hair With Rosemary And Peppermint. Rosemary leaf extract works as an antioxidant that helps to stimulate and detoxify your hair, meanwhile the peppermint oil gives a nice cooling effect and are rich in essential fatty acids. For my hair type this shampoo is absolutely awesome, also it is very lightweight that is great for oily hair.
The only issue is a packaging :-(, because it is smaller than I’ve used to – 236 ml (instead of 250 ml) seems to be a marketing trick… But let’s see how long it will goes, since you need only a small amount of a product each time, it seems to be effective in that sense.
Hair Mask For Normal Hair With Rose & Apricot – after winter I feel that my hair needs more hydration and this mask is a great help. When I don’t have time, I am using it as a conditioner and I still could feel the benefit it is giving to my hair ;-). Organic rose water moisturize, gives a shine and organic apricot kernel oil nourishes my hair with Linoleic Acid, an Omega-9 Fatty Acid, Vitamins A, C and E.
All those standard hair sprays, volume products, gels are full of chemical ingredients that in most cases are harmful for hair and for our health in general, thus organic styling products were something that I was really excited to try.
The styling product that I’ve decided to start with was this volumizing foam. This is basically a water that transforms into a foam. Also my review is going to be very positive I can’t mention the issue with the packaging :-(. At the beginning everything was fine, but when I took it to my trip to New York, I found out that it was leaking on an airplane ;-(. However because of that I tried to use it not as a foam but as a liquid and the result was actually the same if not better ;-). So, this is pretty much a great product to create more volume in your hair!
When I run out of volumizing foam, I was going to repurchase it, but the lady in the store suggested me to try this Deep Scalp Follicle Treatment & Volumizer For Thinning Hair ! This is the product for encouraging healthy hair from the roots, not a styling product, but works great as a volumizer! I can’t give an opinion about the treatment features of this right now, but it is definitely an excellent volumizer! The key ingredients are irish moss that considered to be a natural detoxifier, arnita that has a soothing feature and soy protein that helps to strengthen your hair.
If you are into organic/ natural ingredients – I am definitely recommended you to try John Masters hair products. If you tried it already – I would like to hear your thoughts!
P.S. Since today is all about eco/ organic and natural, I can’t not to mention that the hair brush on the pics is from Eco brand “EcoTools” and I particularly like to use it for styling my hair :-).
